Musician Alien Skin has embraced a new spiritual journey by converting to Islam. “This is a personal decision,” he announced during a heartfelt ceremony at his Fangone Forest home. Once a Christian, Alien Skin made the declaration after a turbulent period in his life.
Last month, the self-styled “Kimenke” shared his plans to convert during a press conference. At that time, he intended to take the Shahada at Old Kampala Mosque. However, he later opted for an intimate ceremony, inviting Sheikh Zabadu Ssali Katumba to oversee his conversion.
“This moment means everything to me,” Alien shared with close friends and family present. The choice to convert follows his recent legal battles, including assault and theft accusations stemming from incidents at Nsambya Hospital.
Following his release from Luzira Upper Prison, Alien Skin spoke openly about rethinking his purpose. “Prison teaches you patience. It gave me time to reflect on life,” he said. His experience clearly motivated a deeper spiritual connection, inspiring this significant step.
Sheikh Zabadu praised Alien Skin for his decision, noting, “Faith brings clarity and peace. Alien’s journey begins today.”
Alien Skin now begins his journey as a Muslim, promising to lead a life of faith and integrity in Islam. He hopes to leave behind past mistakes and embrace a future rooted in peace and understanding. “This is a fresh start,” he concluded. “I feel ready for this next chapter.”
