Arsenal have suffered a major setback in their quest to strengthen their forward line, as Kingsley Coman reportedly decided to stay with Bayern Munich. This news comes despite Arsenal’s persistent efforts to secure the winger’s signature.
“Mikel Arteta has shown strong interest in bringing another forward to the Emirates,” a source close to the club mentioned. “But Coman’s decision has certainly altered their plans.” Arsenal have already invested heavily this summer, signing David Raya, Riccardo Calafiori, and Mikel Merino.
However, Arteta remains eager to add depth to his squad, especially in wide positions. The focus for Arsenal has now shifted as Coman remains in Germany. Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed, “Coman has turned down all proposals, choosing to remain at Bayern Munich.” Saudi club Al Hilal also pursued Coman, but their lucrative offer failed to sway the French star.
Arsenal had been monitoring Coman’s situation closely. Now, their attention may turn to Raheem Sterling, currently out of favor at Chelsea. Sources suggest that Chelsea are eager to offload Sterling, who has reportedly been offered to Arsenal.
“Sterling is interested in joining Arsenal, but his high wages could complicate the deal,” another insider noted. The 29-year-old is rumored to earn over £300,000 per week at Chelsea, a figure Arsenal are reluctant to match.

If Chelsea are willing to subsidize Sterling’s wages, a deal might still be possible. But with the transfer window closing soon, time is of the essence. Arsenal’s next move will be crucial as they seek to bolster their squad before the deadline.
