Bobi Wine, the National Unity Platform (NUP) leader, is currently nursing injuries after being shot in the leg. The incident occurred midway through his political activities in Bulindo. Reports reveal that a police officer fired the shot, but the reasons remain unclear.
In a video circulating on social media, Bobi Wine is seen being assisted by his security team and associates. The footage shows a chaotic scene, with the singer-politician clearly in pain.
“Today, as our President returned from Bulindo in Kira Municipality, the police and military under the command of one Twesigye surrounded our vehicles,” an NUP spokesperson revealed. “They started firing live bullets, teargas canisters, and other projectiles. Our President, Bobi Wine, was clearly targeted and shot in the leg. He is now receiving medical attention from a team of doctors.”
Close sources disclosed that Bobi Wine had visited NUP’s legal counsel, George Musisi, for political reasons. However, the meeting was cut short by this alarming incident.
