Chozen Blood has broken his silence regarding the leaked audio that caused controversy surrounding his friendship with Winnie Nwagi. The leaked conversation, released by his ex-girlfriend, sparked rumors about their relationship. Chozen, however, has set the record straight.
In an interview, the Sharp Shooter singer explained the backstory. His then-girlfriend had grown insecure about his close bond with Winnie Nwagi. The two artists had collaborated on the hit song “Yitayo” four years ago. This friendship, Chozen revealed, became a source of tension in his relationship.
“She thought there was more between Winnie and me,” Chozen admitted. “But the issues in our relationship were personal, unrelated to Winnie.” After their breakup, Chozen’s ex-girlfriend began harassing Winnie, even sending threatening messages.
Chozen Blood encouraged Winnie Nwagi to ignore the attacks, hoping to avoid further drama. However, his ex retaliated by leaking the audio, making it appear as though Winnie was begging for his attention. Chozen clarified that the leaked audio was taken out of context. “The voice notes didn’t show us as lovers,” he emphasized, attributing the leak to emotional manipulation.
Taking responsibility, Chozen apologized to Winnie for his role in the situation. He admitted that their friendship has suffered but hopes they can reconcile in the future. “Friendship tests all levels,” he said, expressing his desire to mend their bond.
