Gravity Omutujju, the famous rapper, found himself behind bars today just before his scheduled press conference for the ‘Embaga ya Isma N’amina’ concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval. His arrest occurred while he was mobilizing fans across Kampala to promote his event.
Reports suggest that Gravity Omutujju didn’t secure the necessary permissions from authorities before gathering his fans. As a result, the police intervened. According to Deputy Police Spokesperson, SP Patrick Onyango, some individuals who joined the rapper began causing trouble by snatching phones and other valuables.
SP Onyango stated, “We advised Gravity Omutujju to limit his crowd to 10 people and avoid Kampala Road.” Unfortunately, the rapper did not comply with this directive. Consequently, he was apprehended and taken to Kampala Central Police Station (CPS) to record a statement.
Onyango emphasized that no charges have been filed against Gravity Omutujju. “The police are not targeting the rapper but rather controlling the unlawful activities sparked by his gathering,” he clarified. As the situation develops, Gravity Omutujju remains in police custody, awaiting further instructions before resuming his concert preparations. Fans are eagerly awaiting news on whether the concert will proceed as planned.
