Uganda is mourning the loss of Cedric Babu Ndilima, a revered media personality and prominent sports administrator, who passed away at 49. Cedric, the son of veteran politician Capt. Francis Babu and former EALA Speaker Margaret Nantongo Zziwa, succumbed to complications arising from a heart condition.
Earlier this month, Cedric collapsed while attending a tennis tournament in Kigali, Rwanda. They urgently airlifted him to Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi, where they admitted him to the Intensive Care Unit. Despite the best medical efforts, he passed away before receiving the critical intervention he needed to survive.
In a desperate attempt to save his life, Cedric’s loved ones launched a public fundraising campaign. The initiative aimed to raise UGX 1.5 billion (around £300,000) for a heart transplant in the United Kingdom.
