With 30 days to the Kawempe North MP by-election, singer Kalifah AgaNaga is actively campaigning for the seat. The Bad Character Records boss was recently declared the FDC flag bearer and has promised transformative leadership if elected.
“I am ready to serve my people,” AgaNaga said. “My priority is to improve health, infrastructure, and job opportunities.”
Improving Healthcare for Kawempe Residents
AgaNaga has pledged to enhance health services by purchasing an ambulance from his salary. He also plans to introduce mobile clinics that will move door-to-door, offering medical assistance.
“These clinics will be crucial, especially during the rainy season when some areas become inaccessible,” he explained.
Fixing Kawempe’s Drainage System
Flooding and poor drainage remain a major concern for Kawempe North residents. AgaNaga promises to collaborate with KCCA and other authorities to find a lasting solution.
“I will work with KCCA to ensure proper drainage so that small business owners are not affected by floods,” he stated.
Fighting Youth Unemployment with Digital Opportunities
AgaNaga plans to address youth unemployment by encouraging digital entrepreneurship. He intends to install free WiFi hotspots in ghettos, enabling young people to earn through online work.
“Technology is the future,” he said. “Many youth can thrive by using social media, freelancing, and content creation.”
Monitoring Government Programs for Residents’ Benefit
Kalifah AgaNaga also aims to ensure that government initiatives, such as the PDM program, are effectively implemented in Kawempe. He wants youth and women to be prioritized in the national budget.
“I will ensure our people benefit from government projects like others across the country,” he assured.
