Lil Pazo Apologizes to Buganda, Requests A Meet With Katikiro

Singer Lil Pazo Lunabe, real name Mukasa Yasin, recently visited the Kabaka’s palace to address concerns surrounding his music to Katikiro. The visit followed a directive by the Katikiro of Buganda banning his songs, along with Gravity Omutujju, citing vulgar content.

Clad in traditional Kiganda attire—a kanzu and coat—Lil Pazo arrived with blogger Frank Ntambi, his friend Hashim, and several journalists. Carrying a letter addressed to Katikiro, the singer sought to clarify rumors about his intentions.

Speaking to the press, Lil Pazo said, “I’m a Muganda man, and I respect our culture. I came here to explain myself to Katikiro. People have spread false claims about me on social media.”

In the letter, Lil Pazo requested a face-to-face meeting with Katikiro to clear his name. He hoped to address the misunderstandings about his response to the ban, which some interpreted as disrespect toward the Buganda Kingdom.

“A few blogs twisted my words, making it seem like I attacked the kingdom. That’s untrue. My earlier statements were directed at the UNCC and certain individuals,” Lil Pazo clarified. Ntambi, who accompanied him, revealed they had spoken privately to find a resolution.

“Lil Pazo has never disrespected Buganda. He values its norms and traditions deeply,” Ntambi assured. Lil Pazo also emphasized his loyalty to Buganda, adding, “I came here because my image is being destroyed. I had to explain to the Katikiro that I wasn’t disrespecting him.”
