Mudra D Viral: Real Success Comes from Performing Beyond Kampala

Dancehall artist Mudra D Viral, real name Alfa Sebunya, has shared his thoughts on what makes an artist truly successful. According to the Onkosa” hitmaker, a musician’s real influence is measured by their ability to hold concerts beyond Kampala.

“If you want to prove you’re big, step outside the city,” Mudra said. “That’s where you see the real impact of your music.” Mudra’s statement follows A Pass’ successful concert at Kampala Serena Hotel. While the event was a hit, DJ Nimrod questioned why A Pass didn’t stage extra shows outside Kampala.

“You can’t call yourself the greatest if you fear to perform beyond Kampala,” DJ Nimrod wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Mudra argues that concerts in Kampala rarely fail because musicians easily attract city crowds. However, outside Kampala, artists must rely on their true fan base. “Some artists only perform in Kampala for fun,” he noted. “But if you’re serious about business and growth, you must reach other areas.”

For Mudra D Viral, true success comes from conquering the entire country, not just thriving in the capital. According to Mudra, big stars like Jose Chameleone, Sheebah, and Bebe Cool hold concerts in cities like Masaka, Luweero, and Mukono. This, he says, proves their national reach.
