Phina Mugerwa, known for her resilience, recently shared the toughest chapter of her life—when her ex-husband, Ken Muyisa, left her for fellow musician Cindy Sanyu. This period, she said, caused significant emotional damage to her and their son, Sandton.
Phina recalled, “I never saw it coming when Ken left me for Cindy. It was the worst time of my life.” Their son, just three years old, felt the impact deeply. “It affected him emotionally, even at school. I had to stop crying in front of him,” she added.

The public scrutiny was intense, with Phina finding herself the subject of countless discussions. Yet, this trying time became a turning point. “The situation transformed me. I worked harder and learned my lessons,” Phina explained.
Despite the heartbreak, she chose not to harbor resentment. Instead, Phina Mugerwa took the high road, even campaigning for Cindy Sanyu to become the Vice President of the Uganda Musicians Association. “I forgave her for real. We never talked about it, but I moved on,” she stated.
Phina’s journey has been one of growth, forgiveness, and ultimately, peace. She has since found happiness with a new partner, and in 2023, they celebrated their union with a colorful introduction ceremony. Through it all, Phina Mugerwa has shown that even in the face of deep personal pain, it’s possible to find strength, forgive, and emerge stronger.
