Luga Flow rapper Gravity Omutujju is in legal trouble over a remix of “Walumbe Zaaya.” The administrators of the late Kadongo Kamu legend Paul Kafeero’s estate have served him a legal notice. Through Libirige & Co. Advocates, they demand accountability for unauthorized use of the song.
The notice, dated February 11, claims Gravity Omutujju, producer Rinex, and Pitaxon remixed “Walumbe Zaaya” in 2012. The song’s beats, lyrics, and visuals were allegedly used without permission. The video, available on the rapper’s YouTube channel, features the original song’s elements. According to the estate, this violates copyright laws and the late singer’s intellectual property rights.
The legal notice highlights several offenses, including unauthorized reproduction and distribution. It also accuses the rapper of unlawful commercial exploitation of Kafeero’s work. The family asserts that these actions infringe on both moral and economic rights of the deceased musician.
As a result, Gravity Omutujju must cease performing and distributing Walumbe Zaaya. He has been ordered to delete the remix from all platforms immediately. Additionally, he must surrender all earnings generated from the song. The estate demands a full revenue report to account for all financial gains.

The rapper is also required to compensate the family with UGX 2 billion in general damages. If he fails to comply within five days, legal measures will follow. The cost of any further proceedings will fall on him.
This case underscores the importance of copyright protection in the music industry. Unauthorized use of intellectual property can lead to serious legal consequences. Artists must seek proper clearance before remixing or sampling existing works.
