Ugandan netizens were stunned by reports involving singers Betty Mpologoma and Phoebe Nassolo. Allegations surfaced that Betty Mpologoma had her sister jailed for stealing their mother’s cows. Reports claimed Phoebe sold the cows, keeping all the money, which devastated their family. Their mother was so shocked that she was hospitalized.
Politician Yiga Kisa Kyamukama broke the story, claiming to be a friend of Phoebe. When he visited her in prison, Phoebe reportedly denied the cows being the real issue. Instead, she blamed her sister for imprisoning her over a shared romantic interest. She alleged that Betty tried to take an army officer away from her. This was despite Betty being married to singer and producer Dr. Tee.
In a phone interview, the Teri Police singer Betty Mpologoma confirmed her sister Phoebe’s arrest but denied personal involvement and is detained at Kanoni prison in Gomba. She insisted it was a collective family decision, not her sole action. She clarified that the issue was a family matter concerning their mother’s well-being. Betty emphasized that her priority was caring for their sick mother.

She also accused Kyamukama of spreading falsehoods to damage her reputation. “I’m not behind this. Our family decided together,” she explained. “People think it’s just me because I’m famous. My focus is on my mother, not prison matters.”
